Kids Ceiling Fans

Shopping for children’s or kids ceiling fans can be a fun experience. Typically kids like brighter colors and lights allowing you to deviate from “normal” décor selections and experiment with variety of designs and styles. Some of the more popular kids ceiling fans are fans that look like airplanes or a favorite sport theme. Not only do they offer an interesting focal point in your child’s room but also an increased level of comfort to allow your child to relax and possible sleep better due to the constant, rhythmic sound of the blades spinning and the hum of the motor.

One of the most popular kids ceiling fans on the market is the Fantasy Flyer by Hunter. The fan is designed to look like an old World War II airplane that is diving at you from the sky. With the wings glued to the ceiling and a propeller for fan blades it offers a unique and exciting view for your child as they lay in bed looking up.  Similar fans can found at Craftmade in the Warbirds series; Glamorous Glen, Tiger Shark or Miss America.

Other popular themes include football, soccer and baseball. In many cases a glass dome over the light is designed to look like a soccer ball, football, or baseball. The Hunter Baseball Fan has what looks like four bats for blades, a catcher’s mitt covering the housing or motor, and the baseball in the catcher’s mitt is the light. In addition to specific themes you can also find kids ceiling fans that are an array of mismatched bright colors and unique designs or you can use a standard white fan and add different color blades or lights to customize to your choice.

Safety is perhaps the most important issue when selecting a ceiling fan for your children’s room. Take care is choosing a fan that is durable and able to withstand objects such as toys or balls that may fly around the room. Look for any sharp objects that may protrude out or easily break off, and that if there are any lights that the glass dome is securely fastened. For additional safety most children’s fan should operate at a slower spin speed.
